Swansea University shortlisted for seven Whatuni Awards, including University of the Year
Swansea University has been shortlisted in the University of the Year category in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards once again this year, as well as in six other categories.
Now in its sixth year, the Whatuni Student Choice Awards’ main categories are compiled entirely from student reviews. The awards provide prospective students with an unbiased, student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems.
Swansea University has been shortlisted in the University of the Year category every year since the awards were established, and scooped the coveted title in 2014.
Professor Martin Stringer, pro-vice-chancellor, welcomed the news:“I’m thrilled that Swansea University has been shortlisted in the University of the Year category for the sixth consecutive year, having claimed the title once before.
“What is most important is that the Whatuni awards are based on student votes. They clearly show how much our students value the lecturers, their own job prospects and the support offered to students here at Swansea University.
“We’re grateful to the students who provided such positive reviews, and to the staff who work so hard to ensure that the overall student experience here at Swansea is outstanding.”
